I don't know if anybody comes back here anymore - but if you were here on this board (wow) almost five years ago now - this will bring it all right back
a documentary film released in march 2009,
"MINE" is the powerful story about the essential bond between humans and animals told against the backdrop of one of the worst natural disasters in U.S history.
It highlights the tireless work done by some right here on PetFinders, and the Stealth Volunteers. Grab a bowl of popcorn, and a you'll need a full box of tissues, too. This is really a fantastic film.
** you can watch it online for free at the link(s) below **
The film will stream best if you let it "play" for a second, and then pause it & let it buffer for several minutes. Also keep an eye out for avertising pop-ups, tabs, or windows. You will need to close them for proper playback of the video.

(as of March 25th the above links all work fine)
If you are interested in this film, but cant watch it online, I have a clean copy that I would be happy to share with you all. Just send me a PM with an address. I can burn a dvd copy for you & mail it. It may take a while for me to respond - I'm not here on PF regularly, but I'll let you know once I get your message of when I can send it. Take care all!!
There also is another documentary on Katrina animals that I'm looking for at this time, titled "An American Opera". It is a 2008 film and has gathered a number of distinguished awards. (although I think this film MINE would be hard to beat) If someone has a URL where that can be viewed for free, please post, or PM me. |
